We had such a great Cochrane Winter Carnival!
We kicked off with a hootin’ and hollerin’ good time at the Country Saloon.
Next, our incredible volunteers created a Mother’s Day float to enter in the “Holiday” themed parade and we took home second prize!
We also had volunteers dedicate a lot of cold, icy hours to create a Mother’s Day snow sculpture, featuring a mama bear and her three cubs. It won third place!
Animal care staff member Amy joined the baby bear team from the Tungol Library Project to take the plunge at the Polar Bear Dip. Their group of inspiring young women donated $1,000 to help fund our mission, all while developing educational resources for students in Nissan Island.
Finally, our NHL ticket raffle wrapped up and we are happy to announce that Jason Cassivi was our winner.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Country Saloon, bought raffle tickets, voted for our snow sculpture, came out to the parade, and braved the cold at the Polar Bear Dip.
Chimo!
