With daily meals of seal, mackerel, and moose meat, the diets of the bears at the Habitat are of the highest quality.
Still, variety is the spice of life, and novel foods provide different sensory experiences for the bears – a critical aspect of enhancing their welfare.
We are so grateful to our supporters – like the ones who donated the salmon that Inukshuk is tearing into in the photo above – for helping to provide additional enrichments for the bears.
It costs about $60 to feed one bear for one day.
We welcome donations of various foods including moose, beaver, venison, salmon, watermelon, pumpkin and more – please contact us if you are looking to donate any food items.
Can’t donate food directly? Consider making a monthly donation to help with this cost.
