Eddy joined us in February of 2019 as a temporary measure to allow major $7.5-million renovations to his permanent home at the Aquarium du Québec, and his upgraded space is now ready.
Last week, we sent him on his journey back home.
We have been working closely with Eddy for more than a year-and-a-half. We’ve gotten to know him well, and we have been sure to share everything we have observed and learned with his permanent care team back in Quebec.
Of course, any time you build a relationship with an animal, it’s hard to say goodbye. But we are excited for Eddy to explore his new enclosure and to be joined shortly by two more male bears. We are eager to see him grow and develop even more and to build relationships with other male bears.
Today, the Aquarium announced it will be closed until October 28, but if you go visit the Aquarium after that, please say hi to Eddy for us!
